it's 4am and we meet at the fuel station to fill the tanks and get ready to hit the road, 2 of the lads are intoxicated with alcohol and the other 2 on the idea, pits of hell, destination The Horn
driving at high speeds trying to out run the break of dawn and absorbing the landscape we finally reach our first checkout point, siciciccccck, the conditions look perfect, big swell with a brisk offshore blowing

now the roads have change from smooth to rough, bouncing along the gravel keeping an eye on the ocean i realize it's summer , this high up the coast the predictions means absolutely nothing and the wind proves this by starting to dwadel between directions

The Horn is not showing any signs of producing what we traveled for this far, no worries travel further i know a place that loves dwadeling winds and hopefully this swell direction and size,

some of the crew still say this wave "dwadeling winds" must become a constant stop, it is absolutely nuts but the swell was just a lil too big for comfort so we move along further, no worry's friends i say, there is one more place to check, it's a beachbreack i have been sassing out but never surfed, and sure enough there was a wave, to be a hundred percent honest it didnt look that great from the checkout, the wind was a light onshore but the wave was still pushing through hard making bowls and the occasional tube lets surf they scream, look look look at that it's wedging, crazy what the desert sun and lack of sleep does to a man, it's now 3 in the afternoon and i was gonna take pictures even though the light was bad

this is what followed at the beachbreak , enjoi

jus quickly something about the photog, he's is 100 percent amateur and still misses alot of shots and is experimenting with angles and getting use to the manual settings, light levels and the works, but assures you the reader it will only get better, thanks for your understanding

stefan roos did the biggest backflip ever out of this air bowl, and i missed it,
use your imagination plse people, it was huge

from this angle the light was a bit softer, and mister j mellish made the most of it and the freedom home schooling offers
now for a new character, adam morley
he rips and you jus have to make peace with the fact, he loves to party and from what i gather cant even touch his toes, this proves shift focus reality has some merit

this picture does not do this reverse any justice as it is one of the sickest i have witnessed, full rotation into the flats with a super soft landing all this with pure style, thank you very much

and here is something you might like, adam at it again
they claim this is one of the best beachbreaks they have ever surfed and cant wait for the ideal conditions to come together at a place they now refer to as stoners

thanks to jose gonzalez for some peaceful vibes that made driving a joy

out of , into focus

this is from the same wave in the previous post , the focus has shifted to the wave

there are many ways to view the world , but people have a tendency to believe there way is the only way and all the others are gonna burn in hell ,

shift your focus and perception , change your habits and experience the freedom of shift focus reality and join me on a journey to the pits of hell

back in town

just got back from a 3 day journey filled with swell coma ideal conditions and at other times not so ideal conditions coma but always good times point

the first day we where met with the most ideal conditions of the trip coma so a few hours was spent driving and looking for the place where the conditions expressed itself the best
and there it was coma solid 6ft dredgers running along a shallow shelf
seeing this in the middle of summer is a feeling i can not even start to express coma so i leave it at that point

i was planning on shooting some high performance wave riding at this particular break but could not resist the waves on over and instead opted to scoop and navigate some rather heaving pits along with the boys coma best thing that has happened all summer point

this picture was taken after enough tube time was clocked to last for awhile coma o the joy point

more to come very soon

coma point

just like to thank busta rhymes when he was still a skinny n@##A and wu tang clan aint nothing to fuck with for entertaining our ears on the first day

Ready your trigger fingers.

Cobus Bosman has gathered a bunch of healthy lads, thrown them into the back of a bakkie and plans to shoot a epic porn movie somewhere of the beaten tracks. Stay tuned for photos, apparently it's going to be mind blowing. The institutions of society have me by the nads, hence I am able to write this from the solitude of my own home.

Will Macabre reporting for BBC news from the Boland, South Africa. John, we have galeforce winds down here in the Boland. I thought I'd seen it all, but by golly, you haven't seen nature like this! Surely Global Warming is making its voice heard now. It's borderline cataclysmic, acorns are flying all over the place, squirrels are going hungry! Very similar to Polar bears drowning because of the lack of floating ice. We've been walking the streets for 2 days looking for people. Most of the local population have actually boarded up their windows and called their pets indoors. By the grace of Adam we did find a lost soul at a place many refer to as the mothership, situated along the breathtaking Clarence drive. This descendent of Adam had braved all the odds to pursue his love for the ocean. One has to ask oneself when you look into the flaming red holes, were there might once upon a time have been eyes, if this is passion or madness? I don't know the answer John, but I do know this man was clutching a piece of paper.

One of the guys in IT recognized the man pictured here, or atleast thinks he does. He reckons that this is indeed long time Calvin Klein model Jared Houston. We then dug further in our archives and realized that this might very well be the last picture of the famed Houston. Apparently after this photo was taken Mr. Houston left for Hawaii. The story goes that on a certain day at a certain time Jared Houston rode a Pipeline Beast and as the behemoth spat out its lungs (?) there was no Jared Houston among the lungs. Some say they still see him inside the Pipeline to this day. We say that this sounds more like an ancient Norse myth. One particular Australian fellow in the office did yell "Yeeeeew" very loudly when he witnessed this picture. Its a strange world.

It doesn't make sense to me, it seems as if the individual pictured has found a way to harness the power of the ocean and project himself to the heavens. However, this does not resemble the individual we found today. This begs me to make the conclusion that this poor soul is hellbent on replicating what is pictured here. It is as if some invisible force drives him, as if doing this will bring him great joy. We can but ponder, John, and as the end of the world does not seem far now, maybe we can rejoice in how strongly it makes people want to accomplish their ideals, no matter how silly or strange. Before the individual left he looked into the wind, smiled and ushered a single word: "Sand...". I don't know John, I just know anymore. People are finding joy in the small things once more. If these winds keep it up there might not be a tomorrow, but if there is one, then I'll still be here. I will bring you your news Europe, I won't fail you fellow countrymen. For BBC news, I am Will Macabre, standing on what might possibly be the eve of the Apocalypse. God bless you and AMERICA!

Fuel the fire of my demise.

So yesterday, Friday the 16th, I parked myself at our communial home. Waves were without a doubt bad. I quit trying to get good ones at about the time that the Tommygun and Jonofang (http://www.myluckyundiesarered.blogspot.com/) pitched up and mumbled some bogus about waves not looking to bad. Anyway the brunt of the crew chilled on the rocks and watched them slave about for some good ones, which they got. Tom has decided to go commercial and now does inverts like all of us, welcome to the team. Johno is younger than me and boogs better than me most days, please become fat. This was still bearable. While we were all having a fat laugh about porn and other manly things, Jared Houston decided he was going to pitch up. At first his approach was innocent, he settled for the classic thumbs up and how's-the-water greeting. If only we knew he was actually here to burn our crops and chase our children into the hills. Jared paddled out, got all 3 the best waves of the day in a matter of minutes, made all of us jealous, made me shout indencies and then told me while I was paddling out again, to stop his reign of terror: "Shees bro, the waves are nice." Cheecky bastard.

Jared's first wave, well maybe not but close enough. Fuck me, this was amazing in so many ways. Made sitting on the rocks so unworth it.

Dream destroyer's second wave, might've been the 3rd or 4th though. This made me cringe so hard, everyone else was mouthing of some butcrack compliments. I'm glad Jared's going to Hawaii, the way he rides foam at the moment is sure to induce jealousy, plus he isn't going to be spoiling our days anymore! Yeeeew.

And just to add insult to injury, here we have young son Jonofang doing the thing most of us dream about. All in all a terrible day at the beach.

I paddled out again after Jared's waves, got 2 closeouts. Went home. The world doesn't believe in justice.
